Once You Were Brave And Ready To Take On The World…

  • Reading time:8 mins read

Do you remember a long time ago, or perhaps not so long ago, there was a time, when you were so brave, and courageous, you could do anything you put your mind to? You were that child in school who said yes to singing the National Anthem in the school assembly in front of everyone… Or you were that child who didn’t have any qualms about taking on the school bully even when you were half his size? Perhaps, you were that child who was always the lead in the school play, and you did an awesome job at it every time?

What happened to that person, that brave soul that was inside of you? Where is he or she now? Where did that part of you go and die?

I don’t know about you, but I was an extremely brave child. Auditioned for all the school plays. Answered all the questions in class, even sometimes when I wasn’t absolutely sure of the answer. And even though I was a terrible dancer, I still danced my heart out at the Talent Competition every year. That was me when I was 7 or 8 years old. (more…)

[Ep 56] Don’t Forget to Celebrate Every Small Win

  • Reading time:3 mins read

In this episode, I’ll be sharing thoughts on celebrating small wins. As an entrepreneur, too often we forget to celebrate the small wins as we are in a hurry to get somewhere big. In that desire to get somewhere in the shortest amount of time possible, we forget to appreciate the moments here, right now. In order to prevent that, let’s start celebrating even a small win – a new email subscriber, a pound lost, and on and on because if we think deeply about life, we will see that we have so much to be grateful for. The next time you have a small win, whatever it might be, make a promise to yourself that you are going to celebrate it in the best way possible. Whatever that means to you. Perhaps a manicure or pedicure or both, or a massage, or a dance, or a dinner. Podcast Content In this podcast episode, I will be chatting about the following things:…

[Ep 55] Are You Giving Only 70%?

  • Reading time:3 mins read

In this episode, I’ll be chatting with you about why you are only giving 70% of yourself to a certain goal.

Most of us are living way below our potential. Some of us are living close to our potential, but for some reason, we are afraid to fully touch our potential.

We dip our bodies in, but we leave out our shoulders and head due to some odd fear.

I’ve been thinking about my 2016 and how I have spent my days and I’ve been doing a lot of contemplation and introspection about my 2017 and how I want to spend my days. (more…)

[Ep 54] Creativity And Sexuality Are Intertwined

  • Reading time:4 mins read

In this episode, I’ll discuss how sex can be used as a source of procrastination and how creativity and sexuality are so interconnected that we can use one to affect the other. The deep connection that exists between creativity and sexuality cannot be denied. Both are creative forms of energies in their essence.

In our mainstream culture, sex is a form of easy and instant gratification and distraction. Because of the immediate joy and pleasure we get from it, we primarily maximize sex as a tool to distract us from the work that we were supposed to be doing.

The intention behind our sexual acts should always be considered. If we are consciously using sex as a distraction then that’s fine, but I think it becomes an issue when sex is used unconsciously for years, and decades as a way to get away from the present moment.

Sex at that point becomes not a means of connecting to a person you like or love or lust after. It isn’t just a refuge we choose to seek when are afraid of what the present moment could mean for us. It isn’t a shelter we run into when we are scared of the present moment. It is so much more than that, so much more. (more…)

[Ep 53] Create a Jealousy Map to Guide Your Decisions

  • Reading time:3 mins read

In this episode, I’ll be chatting about using jealousy as a guidepost to our heart’s desires, rather than an emotion to be avoided. I call these Jealousy Maps.

Normally, jealousy is used in a negative light. We believe that if we feel jealousy then we are horrible human beings, who are imperfect, and that, we should never ever feel jealousy if we are to be good. Jealousy is avoided, eschewed, and demeaned as an emotion.

The key in turning it around is by using all these insights we gleaned from our feelings of jealousy and wield it as a weapon to enhance and transform our lives for the better. Jealousy has an important lesson in it that we miss if we avoid listening to its message by running away from it.  (more…)

Do You Have An Anxious Heart? Try Out This Meditation

  • Reading time:5 mins read

If you know me at all, or have read any of my other posts, you know I am a serious connoisseur of meditation. I believe in my heart-of-hearts that meditation is a cure-all. If everyone on this planet meditated, it would eliminate disease, war, poverty, and any of the other evils that ail the human race. But everyone doesn’t meditate, and I am on this quest to get people to meditate. In this quest, I have created this funky new meditation. Let me explain how it came about.

In my opinion, if you have an itch and it needs to be scratched, a lot of times you can’t find the solution to the itch in the market place. 2 out of 3 times you will be able to find a solution that fits okay, but sometimes you won’t be able to find a solution at all.

I have an anxious heart. Whenever I am stressed or scared or feeling any kind of emotion, it starts thumping about like a rabbit in a barrel (just made this up, I call poetic license). I didn’t want to numb the thumping. I wanted to hear it beat, and calm it down by talking to it. Instead of feeling so out of sorts, because my heart is feeling so anxious, I decided I would try out different things to calm it down. (more…)

We Live And Die Under The Illusion Of A Thousand Tomorrows

  • Reading time:9 mins read

I have a procrastination problem, where I keep on pushing off my work from one day to the next, to the next, to the next, until I realize that the item I pushed off for months on end, isn’t even relevant anymore. Yikes. I see it happening, but like a car accident that’s gone too far, I cannot prevent it, all I can do is watch it happen over and over again, in a nightmarish way. No matter what app I use or how many admonishments I give myself, I keep on doing this over and over again.

There are two reasons for it. The first being that a lot of these items I am pushing off aren’t important to me, or aren’t important in general. If I was able to push them off for months on end, without any ill consequences to me, that means they weren’t truly necessary tasks, but just something nice to do. This reason is important, but not as important as the second reason, which is that, I live under the illusion that I am going to live forever.

That is the only reason I would keep on pushing off my tasks over and over again to this illusionary land called tomorrow, where I am a different person who gets everything on her to-do list done. If I believed that I was going to live forever, and I have a hundred or thousand or million tomorrows at my disposal, I can move off my tasks to those tomorrows, and still get all of my work done. (more…)

[Ep 52] Find Your Tribe to 10x Your Life

  • Reading time:3 mins read

In this episode, I’ll be chatting about the importance of finding your tribe or community to really get the support you need to grow your life and business.

Loneliness frequently stems from isolation. When I first quit my job and began my online business, I felt incredibly alone. Though I am learning a lot from various online forums, I felt lost and started questioning the path I am currently taking. Being a social creature, I began hating my path and everything I do.

My first attempt to break through this was finding my first tribe – people who think like me, individuals who are working on their online business and who believed that there is more to life than 9-5 jobs, those who make it a point to travel as the norm and not as a mere fad. They made me realize that the kind of life I want isn’t just a castle in the air. (more…)

[Ep 51] Say Yes To Everything To Be Truly Alive

  • Reading time:3 mins read

In this episode, I’ll be chatting about the value of saying yes to everything that the universe sends your way. This way, you are telling the universe thank you for everything, and I trust your path for me.

If there is one common experience that all of us share and has been through, it is this: saying no to almost every single thing that the universe hurls at us. Most often than not we utter more “no” than “yes” when an opportunity presents themselves upon us.

No is the usual response when confronted with new experiences. I often find myself in that situation, and it made me feel like living in a tiny and limited world that limits human potential. (more…)
