Consistency Is My True and Ultimate God

  • Reading time:11 mins read

Let’s start off with a story as always. I recently started posting once a day, every morning, on YouTube. It’s nothing major. I do a video on things I am interested in, and I post it up as one of my tasks of the morning. It’s easy for me, as I don’t edit it, and I just do it impromptu as I do all of my videos. So here I am posting every single morning without thinking much about the result. In less than two weeks, my subscribers have gone from 30 to 57. Not a big rise, you say. Not a big deal, you say.

Agreed. It’s not such a big deal. It’s just a raise of a few subscribers. But it’s literally like the universe is telling me, “You are on the right track with consistent efforts. Just doing something every single day for a long period of time is the way you become a master at it, and the way you get to your goals.”  (more…)

I Am On The Low Information Diet To Be More Productive

  • Reading time:11 mins read

Every single day, people come to me asking if I have read this or the other news. I always have to remind them that I am on the low-information diet, and I do not have the time, energy, or patience to be up-to-date on everything that is out there. Instead of spending my time on reading blog posts, or keeping up on the News, or listening to podcasts, I focus all of that energy on my work.

I am a big proponent of staying focused, and removing all distractions. This need we have as human beings in the modern era, to know everything, and to be informed of everything, is highly distracting. I have noticed this for myself – when I am on Facebook too often, and too much, I am more distracted and unable to focus on my work.

If I am able to stay focused, I can finish writing an article like this in a matter of an hour or so. But if I have one of those distracted days, it takes me twice or thrice as long as that. (more…)

Sick Of People Saying They Are Jealous Of Me

  • Reading time:11 mins read

At least once a week, I get an email or message from someone saying that they are jealous of me, or jealous of my lifestyle, or jealous of my courage. Whatever they might be jealous of, I am sick and tired of them saying it. Don’t get me wrong, I used to say exactly the same thing over and over again, with regards to people who I was following. These people were living my ideal life, but in my heart of hearts I believed that I couldn’t live my ideal life as they were. I had something missing within me that made it impossible for me to live the kind of life that I wished to live.

So I sat around feeling sorry for myself, and telling them in messages or comments, how jealous I was of their life. (more…)

How To Stop Boredom Eating? Try This Hunger Meditation.

Hunger meditation

I don’t know about you, but I spend a lot of my daily hours foraging for food. It’s either thinking about food, thinking about my next or previous meals, wondering when I will get to eat next, and where I will eat next (have you ever tried a hunger meditation?).

It’s all related to hunger and food. A lot of times, I have realized I am not actually really hungry when I eat, but, I am eating, because I am bored, or lonely, or upset.

I’m sure you have done this before as well. Not listened to your bodies’ cues for hunger, but eaten just for the sake of eating. The opposite is true as well.

A lot of times, I am starving, or at least my body is, but my mind is too busy working or distracted, and unable to figure out that it is time to eat. That’s when I need to be more connected to my hunger cues, rather than less.

I Want To Believe In A World Where The Universe Gives Me Money Easily

  • Reading time:11 mins read

There are so many things that are important on this planet, and money is one of them. I am lucky enough to be able to say that I am living my ideal life right now. It is absolutely and exactly the way I would set it up, if I had every resource in the world, which truly really I do.

But the only thing missing from my life right now, which I am working on bringing into it, is money. Cash. Moolah. The green stuff. I have some. I need more in order to make my ideal life sustainable for a long period of time. The real thing of it, is that I wouldn’t change anything in my life, even if I had more money. I would keep on doing what I am doing for a long, long time. That’s how I want to live, and that’s how I want to be.

So what is this post all about? I am a big believer in sending out our intentions into the universe when we are ready to exclaim them out loud. This post is my exclamation to the world, the big wide world, that I am ready, ever ready, ready as ever, to receive all the money in the world that is my due. I am ready and it is time for me. to start receiving. (more…)

Don’t Take Advice From People Who Barely Know Who They Are

  • Reading time:11 mins read

Being online and posting so much stuff on the Internet all the time, I get a lot of feedback, good and bad. Feedback is fine with me, because the meaning inherent in giving feedback is, “I’m giving you this feedback, because I think you can do something with it. But if you choose to throw it away, then I’m fine with that.”

Some feedback I incorporate into my life and some I don’t. No one ever comes after me with a battleaxe. But advice – now that’s a different beast altogether.

People who give advice are giving it because they know something or they think they know something better than you. They are imbibing all of these pearls of advice (wisdom) over you so that you can someday aspire to be as good as them. But, seriously, would you ever be able to get close to them? Never!

The meaning inhere in advice is that “I’m giving you this advice, because I am better than you somehow, and you better take this advice. Otherwise, you are going to burn in the fires of hell forever and ever.” (more…)

When You Give Up Consumerism, It Frees Up Time For Creativity

  • Reading time:11 mins read

I feel like I’ve been blind all of my life, and only now am I beginning to see the light. It’s a miracle. The light that I am beginning to see, is the truth of how many hundreds of hours I wasted going off to malls, online and offline, and wasting so many precious seconds on consumerism.

“Oh, I’m not going to buy anything. I’m not spending money. I’m just going to do some window shopping.” So much precious time was wasted on nothing. On buying items that I didn’t really need. Then, returning those said items, because I just didn’t have the space or the money for them. From there, going on and repeating the cycle, a hundred thousand times.

Every single day, every single week, every single month. It was all the same. My life was about shopping. It was about consumerism. The point of my life wasn’t to live, but to buy or pretend to buy or window shop or browse. All of it was the same.  (more…)

How Many Things In Your Life Are You Grateful For?

Gratitude Meditation

Do you live a privileged life? I can guess that you do. How can I guess that so easily? Well, you are probably sitting in a comfortable chair, sipping on some beverage, on a laptop, or a tablet, reading this article on the internet. (Have you ever tried a gratitude meditation?)

If that isn’t a privileged life, I don’t know what is. There are a hundred things you have that millions of people on this planet don’t. But, feeling gratitude isn’t about feeling bad about the fact that we are better off than others. That’s not we are doing here.

Gratitude is all about focusing on the positive things in our lives. There are so many positive things that happen on a daily basis with us. Hundreds of them, in fact.

But, as human beings, we have a laser-like focus on the one or two negative things that might happen.

Why Are So Many People So Interested In Supporting Creative People?

  • Reading time:11 mins read

Recently, a friend of mine and I were chatting about how there are so many communities out there, Patreon, being just one of them, that is a way for ‘normal’, i.e., non-creative people, to support the ‘creative’ folks. Supporting creative people who are not like them.

The creative people are the dreamers, the doers, and the change-makers of society. But that crazy, kooky way of life, resulted in the past a lot of starving artist mode. Where you lived in your parent’s basement until you made it big (if you ever did).

But the Internet, and all of those amazing creative communities online, MySpace, YouTube, Facebook, Instagram, and so many more, are all changing the way the world views creative people. For the first time in history, everyone who is connected to the Internet can view creative people from all over planet Earth.

Someone in Okhlahoma can listen to a Turkish band. And anyone from Australia can be a fan of a indy band from a little town in Alaska.

The possibilities are endless. (more…)
