Should You Do It Your Way Or The World’s Way?

  • Reading time:13 mins read

They say, “If you don’t know where you are going, any road will take you there.” That has never been more true than right now. We are at a crossroads of time and space, where more than ever we are capable of living a life that is sculpted truly by our hands. A life that is uniquely suited to every random and non-random aspect of our unique selves. A life that is built to suit us so perfectly that we spend all of our waking time in some sort of flow state.

So why do I even ask the question, if we should do it our way or the world’s way? Haven’t I already answered the question? We should do it our way, obviously, you are thinking. Duh, you are giving away the climax before the story has even begun, right?

Well, that’s the reason I posed the question in the title. (more…)

Are You Focusing Your Energies On The Wrong Questions?

  • Reading time:13 mins read

I get asked this particular question a lot from newbie business owners, or people who are trying to set up an online business, and it always acts like a stumbling block for people.

The question being, “Should I build my business under my name, or under a random moniker, like you have done with The Millionaire Hippie?”

It’s weird to me, how this question seems to paralyze the people who ask it for weeks, months, or even years on end. I know of one friend who hasn’t been able to figure out the answer to this question, and it has been at least 8 years for her.

I want to tell you guys one thing, and only one thing (which is usually what I tell the people who ask me the question as well) – It doesn’t matter. (more…)

Your Thoughts Are Creating Your World All The Time

  • Reading time:12 mins read

A few days ago, I went over with a couple of friends to hike a waterfall near the city. We are so lucky to live here in Chiang Mai. There are lots of waterfalls, and forests right around the corner from our homes. We rode on a motorbike for ten minutes and we were in a jungle area. It was a fun and difficult hike, at least for me, as it was a hot day. But when we got to the waterfall, the cool water dropping on our heads, made it all worth it.

Why am I telling you this story? Well, this is what happened when we were standing by the waterfall. The water was coming down with some great force, and I said, without thinking about it, to a friend who was standing a bit too close to the edge, “Be careful. Don’t fall down the edge.” (more…)

How To Keep Things Simple In Our Business And Life

  • Reading time:12 mins read

Recently, I have started working on a new project – a membership site with all of the different lessons and courses. This way all of my tribe can have access to all of my stuff in one platform without any complications. Well, as always, I was planning out my project, in the most creative way possible. Is it a trait of creative people or perhaps all people that we like to complicate things beyond the necessary?

I am definitely guilty of this quality. Thus, instead of keeping my membership site as simple as possible, I made it so complicated, bloated, and complex, that I was mystified at how I was ever going to make this site happen.

The More Complicated, The Easier To Procrastinate

Why did I do that? Well, I was procrastinating in a way, wasn’t I? I mean, I didn’t know that directly but as I analyzed my actions after, I realized that I was sneakily procrastinating. If I made my site simple, then it would be ready faster, and it would be in front of my customers faster. This would mean feedback faster, negative and positive. And I wanted to keep this baby close to my heart and in my head for as long as possible – away from all of that. (more…)

When You Reach Your Goals And Think Now What?

  • Reading time:12 mins read

A friend of mine, Henrik Nordstrom, whom I really admire recently shared a story of his. He is originally from Sweden, and when he was 11 or so, he was overweight. He was made fun of in school and his life was pretty miserable. His mother had these Tony Robbins cassette tapes that she had bought, and one summer as he was sitting there bored, he started listening to these tapes. All about NeuroLinguistic Programming (NLP) and modelling. He was one of the slowest runners in school at the end of school year in the spring, and after going through these Personal Power II tapes and learning NLP and modelling a movie scene out f Jackie Chan movie (Police Story) where the character was running fast, he was able to improve his speed, without any actual training, but just through the power of his mind.

Brilliant, right? This is just the beginning. One of his favourite shows on TV was Miami Vice. He decided at the tender age of 10 to move there and start anew. He built a really successful business, had a Ferrari, a condo by the water, more money than he knew what to do with, and the whole shebang. He had made it at the age of 21.

The reason I love this man so much is because he asked the question that most people in his situation wouldn’t ask. That question was, “Now what?”  (more…)

Your Life Is Perfect In Hindsight, So Why Not In The Moment?

  • Reading time:13 mins read

I have been thinking about this topic a lot lately – Amor Fati. I am building a membership site at the moment. And, it is fascinating to me how so many skills that I have developed over the past 2 years (and more) have aligned perfectly so that I can create this site right now without much technical help from the outside. It’s so odd to me because for the longest time, I was a creative person. I believed myself to be creative, and non-technical.

But in 2014-5, I joined a company called Blueprint with a colleague and a boss (Sab and Ruth), both of whom pushed me constantly to become more technical. I am so grateful for their encouragement now, but at the time I used to wonder why they are torturing me with all of this extra work.

According to Sab, I had to learn how to become more technical right now. He wanted me to learn how to code HTML and CSS right at this moment. He knew I could do it, and he encouraged me constantly. He was a self-taught master and he knew that it was possible for me as well. He also asked me to use Adobe Photoshop to create simple graphics.  (more…)

How To Create Unstoppable Momentum In Business?

  • Reading time:12 mins read

When I first started this business and brand, I did what everyone does. I started off by building a website. I went around the Interwebs and looked at all of the successful people in my field, and looked at their website. Of course, that was the worst thing to do as a newbie. I saw all of their amazing professional spick and span websites, and I looked at my starter website and I faltered.

This made me think, I am never going to get to where these people are at. I will never catch up. After I had that debilitating thought, I started working day and night trying to “catch up” with people who didn’t even know they were in a race with me.

Of course, I burnt out long before I got any further ahead. The lesson was, of course, to never compare. But also to take it as slow as a baby. Especially when you are starting out something so big. (more…)

Stop Hitting The Metaphorical Snooze Button On Your Projects

  • Reading time:11 mins read

Do you know what happens when you hit the snooze button in the morning? When we wake up and go back to sleep, we are actually going back into another sleep cycle, and then interrupting it over and over again. I had an ex who used to hit the snooze button twenty times in the morning before he finally woke up. I would be up with the first alarm, and doing stuff, and he would still be hitting an hour and a half later.

The reality with all of these interrupted sleep cycles is that we feel more tired, than we just woke up the first time around, because we are going in and out of sleep several times, and not really getting any true rest. Even though, in our minds, we imagine that we are allowing ourselves to rest just a tiny bit more.

I was thinking about this snooze button, and I realized that every time someone hits the snooze button on their sleep, instead of taking a few steps forward or even standing still, they are actually being pushed a few steps backwards. This is because they are going to wake up groggy and out of sorts, instead of being refreshed by their sleep. It’s going to take them hours to truly wake up after all of those missed sleep cycles. How Are You Giving Your Power Away Every Day?

  • Reading time:12 mins read

As I get older, I realize more and more that there are so many ways in which I give away my power daily as a human being, and as a woman. I think it is something we are all so used to doing, that we don’t think twice about it. It is common practice to be taught as children to give our power away, and we carry those habits through into adulthood, without a second thought.

Most of us have habits that are helping us give our strength and power away, but we haven’t taken the time to ask ourselves, “Should I still be carrying around these habits over from childhood? Are they still useful? Are they going to get me where I want to get to?”

Let’s discuss some of these habits in detail in this post. I am going to use examples from my own life for this, but I am sure a lot of these examples will resonate with you. (more…)
